My father and I recently tried to unstick a stuck carbon fibre kayak paddle. The most common advice I found online was to use heat, but that didn't work for us. But this worked:
- Wrap some old bicycle inner tube around each half, to give extra friction
- Tie any strap/rope to one part of the oar, using an icicle hitch
- Tie a ratcheting strap to the other part, same knot
- Attach the loose ends to something solid
- Ratchet it until it separates
If anyone wonders about the hammer: it helped with a bit of careful knocking by the hammer at various stages (softened bangs by a cloth). Or at least it felt that way; think the final split was a combo of haul and knock... Big thanks to my creative and handy son! The father
Very good
